Costa del Sol

Costa del Sol is the southern part of the Mediterranean coast of Spain, located 7 kilometers from the city of Malaga in the province of Andalusia. This is a wonderful land where the history and culture of different peoples, embodied in traditions and architecture, are harmoniously combined. Living evidence of the rich past of this region are such pearl cities as Seville, Cordoba, Granada.

The Costa del Sol is the ideal place for sports. There are many sports complexes and stadiums, windsurfing and diving clubs, golf courses. The best area for windsurfing is considered to be coastal waters near the city of Tarifa, the southernmost port on the Strait of Gibraltar. However, there are good conditions for windsurfing on the coast of Marbella - Estepona. The sports club, which provides services to fans of this sport, is located on the beach near the Atalaya Park Hotel.

The sun on the Costa del Sol shines 300 days a year, and the coast is very picturesque. However, the cold current from the Atlantic makes this region practically unsuitable for a “pure” beach holiday: in the high season, the water temperature does not rise above +21°C. Hotels here are more expensive than in all of Spain, but they are newer and better. On the coast - well-groomed beaches with yellow sand. Marbella is the most famous and most fashionable resort not only on the Costa del Sol, but throughout Spain. The snow-white villas of Marbella are buried in the greenery of the parks, and the snow-white yachts are reflected in the blue water of the bay. Here, tall palms catch the breeze with their feathery leaves, while pink bougainvilleas and scarlet camellias compete for vibrant color. It is in Marbella that the most prestigious hotels in Spain are located, and along the coast to neighboring Estepona stretches the "Golden Mile" of private properties owned by members of royal families and world celebrities.

In addition to luxurious Marbella, there are many excellent resorts on the Costa del Sol. So, for example, Estepona is a quiet and peaceful resort town, very convenient for families with children. And the resort of Cabopino, located in a sparsely populated corner of the coast, is very popular among nudists. Torremolinos is a resort center with multi-storey buildings. Benalmadena and Fuengirola are popular with package tours.

There are two water parks in the province of Malaga: one is located at the entrance to Torremolinos, the other is in the city of Mijas. The famous amusement park Tivoli World is located in the city of Benalmadena. In the vicinity of the resort of Estepona there is a large zoo "Selvo", where in the bosom of nature you can see animals from all continents in conditions close to natural.
