Costa Brava
Costa Brava
Costa Brava (“wild, rocky coast”) is the coast of Catalonia, stretching from the border with France to the resort town of Blanes. The name of this coast, one of the most beautiful in the European Mediterranean, fully corresponds to the nature of its landscapes: wild and impregnable cliffs, overgrown with pines and firs, hide mysterious deep grottoes, and, unexpectedly parting, open small secluded bays and quiet bays.
The Costa Brava is famous for its amazing sandy beaches, which, along with picturesque rocky areas, occupy a significant part of the coast. In the zone of the most extensive beaches there are such well-known tourist centers as Tossa de Mar, Lloret de Mar, Blanes, which have a well-developed resort infrastructure and have retained their special national flavor.
Tossa de Mar is the most picturesque resort of the Costa Brava, where a perfectly preserved medieval fortified city rises on a steep rocky coast, walking along which you can not only see the majestic fortifications, but also admire the boundless sea expanses.
Cadaques still keeps its rocky beaches in pristine cleanliness. Roses, located in a bay, boasts the longest beach on the Costa Brava, which attracts water sports enthusiasts from all over the world. In L'Escala, a small fishing town, the Spaniards themselves like to relax. And from the hill in Begur, a magnificent view of the seashore with bays and beaches opens up.
Tourists who have chosen one of the resort centers of the Costa Brava as their place of rest have a great opportunity to see ancient and modern Catalonia in all its inimitable beauty - one of the richest and most prosperous autonomies of Spain. And despite the fact that the sandy beaches and the blue sea irresistibly attract and invite you to forget about everything else, except for a carefree vacation on the seashore, you should definitely take some time to get acquainted with the history, culture and wonderful nature of this original region.
The Medes Islands is a marine reserve consisting of six rocky islands located off the coast of the port city of L'Estartit. Due to the extraordinary beauty of the underwater world near the islands, the reserve is considered a real paradise for scuba diving enthusiasts. It is here that the routes of Nautilus pleasure boats with a transparent bottom lie.
Waterworld is a large water amusement park in the vicinity of the city of Lloret de Mar.
